Clinical information:
Low back pain.

Technique:
Sagittal T1, T2 and STIR images.
T2 axial and STIR coronal images.

Findings:
Spastic straightening of the lumbar spine with spondylo-degenerative changes.

L2-3 disc show broad-based disc bulge eccentric to the right encroaching upon the right lateral recess regions comprising inferior aspect of the right neural foramen.

L3-4 disc is degenerated with markedly reduced disc height with endplate degenerative changes, there is broad-based disc bulge indenting the thecal sac compromising the inferior aspect of both neural foramen.

L4-5 disc show degenerative changes, broad-based disc bulge with a small right paracentral focal component encroaching upon the right lateral recess region compromising the inferior aspect of both neural foramina more on the right side.

L5-S1 disc show broad-based disc bulge slightly eccentric to the right encroaching upon the right lateral recess region compromising the inferior aspect of the right neural foramen.

Normal MR appearance of the spinal cord and bone marrow signal intensity.

No other significant abnormality seen.

Impression:
Multilevel degenerative disc lesions as detailed above. endplate degenerative changes at L3-4.
